Why we built noknokk

Almost everyone carries one encounter they never resolved. noknokk is an archive for those, and a quiet way to find the other half.

Why we built noknokk

Almost everyone carries one. The kid who went in goal every evening that one summer. The person on the top deck of the 42 who lent you an umbrella in November. The stranger in the festival queue who argued with you about comic books for two hours.

Not a dating app

noknokk is an archive of half-remembered encounters. You post your side of the story — who they were, where it happened, roughly when, and the details only two people would share. There are no profiles to browse, no swipes and no likes.

How the matching works

Our AI compares your description of them against how other people describe themselves. Place, dates, details and all. When two halves look like the same encounter, we tell both people quietly.

Double-blind, always

Neither side sees a name, photo or profile until you both accept. Then there is a verification question, then a private chat. That order matters: it is what keeps the archive safe.

Free to post, always

Posting and being matched is free. Pro covers the cost of the AI match runs and keeps the archive free of throwaway accounts.
